The most-searched for pornography for 2024 has been revealed — and it appears Americans have developed a penchant for the fantastical.
In Pornhub’s global yearly report, ‘hentai’ – a popular animated form of Japanese pornography – was the most searched term in the US, taking the top spot from ‘lesbian,’ which reigned in 2023, 2022, 2019, and 2017.
‘Hentai’ also ranked number one globally.
The Montreal-headquartered company said of the finding: ‘All over the world people are showing increasing interest in this type of content, which can include video game characters, anime style characters, and 3D animation, to name a few.’
Compared to other countries, the US showed a special interest in ‘latina’ this year, which rose two spots to make it the second most searched term, while ‘milf’ followed at third place.
Pornhub says ‘milf’ consistently ranks in the top three globally.
In the US league table, the term ‘Asian’ rose two spots to land fourth place, while ‘ebony’ stayed in the same place as 2023, in at fifth.

The term ‘lesbian’ took a bit of a plunge in 2024, moving down five spots from last year to sixth place.
Other terms to make the top ten were ‘c****pie’, ‘big a**’, and ‘a***’.
In light of what Pornhub dubs the ‘animation arousal trend’, anime jumped up four places from 2023 to the 12th most searched term.
Though this appears to be a result of people trying to search for hentai.
Anime is a style of animation that originated in Japan and is characterized by hand-drawn and computer-generated animation
Hentai is the same style of cartoon but pornographc in nature.
Looking at trending searches, Pornhub revealed that ‘mature-50 plus’ was ‘popping off’, up 385 percent this year.
Meanwhile, ‘business trip’ was up 331 percent, ‘thick and curvy’ was up 251 percent and ‘sneaky cheating’ was up 211 percent.
Pornhub says the rise of ‘business trip’ is down to people developing work crushes again with hybrid working conditions or the return of in-office working entirely.
A spokesperson commented: ‘It’s one thing being behind a screen in meetings, but when you’re back in the office, those sparks might turn into flames. And our statisticians saw this unfolding in real time.’
Elsewhere, Pornhub also revealed that 27-year-old Violet Myers was the top pornstar of the year in the US, while former Marine Alex Adams came second, and Chicago-born Lana Rhoades was in third.
Globally, Pornhub found that there was a huge interest in ‘wives,’ which it attributes to the TV reality show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
The analysts said of the surprising trend: ‘While wives are already hot on Pornhub, the show, in addition to the interest of traditional aspects like authentic couples and authentic sex, seemed to ignite a spark into a flame.

‘In general, the interest in ‘wife’ and marital searches spiked, with ‘amateur wife’ up 21 percent, ‘traditional wife’ up 34 percent and ‘tradwife’ up 72 percent.’
Tradwives have become popular on social media, especially right-wing groups.
The term is used to describe woman who adheres to traditional gender roles and marriages, often by choosing to stay home, keep house, and raise children.
Many tradwife influencers wear revealing clothing in their videos.
Meanwhile, Pornhub said more boundary-pushing marital searches grew as well, with ‘cuckold wife’ up 8 percent, ‘wife swap’ up 6 percent, and ‘wife threesome’ up 12 percent.
‘Reflecting the Mormon aspect of the hit show, searches for ‘mormon wife’ were up 71 percent, ‘mormon sex’ was up 92 percent, ‘mormon missionary’ was up 68 percent, and ‘mormon threesome’ was up 122 percent.’
Overall, ‘wife’ came 23rd on Pornhub’s global most-searched list.
In the US, the states searching for wife-related terms the most, were New Mexico with ‘housewife’ and Michigan with ‘amateur wife’.
And when it came to Pornhub’s largest audience, the US came out on top, followed by France and the Philippines.
Ten minutes and 37 seconds was the average visit duration in the US this year and the state that spent the most amount of time on average was Alaska, at 11 minutes and 4 seconds.
Commenting on the findings overall, a company spokesperson said: ‘One of the best parts of doing our Year in Review Insights is gathering all the data and sifting through billions of visits to see what defined the tastes of the year.
‘Often these tastes are defined by pop culture, world events, and changing attitudes toward sexuality.
‘What you will find here is not strictly a Pornhub thing, it is synonymous with mainstream media as well.
‘The way people interact with external factors of their lives inevitably trickles into their porn consumption, and looking at these trends speaks to a year ripe with cultural shifts.’
