Prominent radio host Robin Ayers has unexpectedly passed away, her employer has confirmed. She was 44.
Ayers had been a well-known entertainment reporter and radio host at KBLA 1580 Talk Radio in Los Angeles, where she worked for the past several years.
In a statement, staffers at the Los Angeles-area radio station revealed she died on Thursday. As of Sunday, a cause of death had yet to be announced.
Tributes, meanwhile, are pouring in for radio personality, who left behind a husband and two twin daughters who just days ago celebrated their 18th birthday.
The host of The RA Report with Robin Ayers wrote at the time: ‘With the fam! Celebrating Thanksgiving and the twins’ 18th bday!’ – over a video showing the family-of-four enjoying what appeared to be a night out in New York City.
Days later, it remains unknown what took her life. She appeared happy and healthy in the post and other in the days leading up to it, with one penned on November 21 insisting that ‘the best part [of her story] is yet to come.’
In addition to KBLA, Ayers had appeared on a host of other networks like FOX and BET. She had been a stylist in Hollywood before embarking on her successful career in entertainment and podcasting about a decade ago, now brought to a close.
She was remembered as ‘a bright light’ by old boss Travis Smiley Friday, as he went on to confirm Ayers’ passing.

‘On behalf of her precious family, it is with profound sadness that KBLA Talk 1580 announces the passing of our beloved colleague Robin Ayers on Thursday, December 05,’ Smiley – the former host of BET Talk – wrote on behalf of her family.
‘Robin was a bright light. You could see her radiant smile through the radio,’ The talk show host who has also manned desks for NPR and PBS before joining KBLA in 2021 continued.
‘We all respected her immense talent, loved her jovial spirit, celebrated her love of family, and honored her faith in God.’
