She also decorated her Magnolia store in Waco, Texas. And the remodeling expert doled out tips on social media for getting that Christmas glow.
‘Obviously we’re doing it on this structure, but if you want to do this on your mantel, your staircase, on top of a piano, or a console, layer different kinds of greenery,’ Gaines said in a recent Instagram video.
‘And if you want that really fun hit of color, weave in this fun little iced berry. Any time you put red with it, or even this burgundy, it’s such a pretty contrast,’ she continued.
This comes months after she threw her son, Crew, a ‘fossil dig and kite’ party to celebrate his sixth birthday. She uploaded a video montage to her main page which was captioned as: ‘SIX years old! He asked for a “Dino fossil dig and kite” party.’
She has been married to Chip since 2003 and together they have five children: Drake, 19, Ella, 17, Duke, 16, Emmie, 14, and Crew.
Towards the beginning of the reel, she gave her followers a glimpse of the decorations and presents on top of a long, wooden table. Various green and white balloons could be seen lining the wall while a toy dinosaur with a mini party hat was placed towards the center.
Joanna also filmed the sweet moment when Crew walked into the room to see all of his gifts and the party decorations. He excitedly walked towards the table to get a closer look at the presents as well as a large kite that hung above.
The clip then cut to a set up outdoors which included small, individual ‘dig kits’ for her son and his friends to help them look for fossils.
The group ran towards an area in what appeared to be a backyard and they were soon given hats before digging for fossils in their own boxes filled with sand.

The birthday festivities took place shortly after Joanna and her husband, Chip, rung in their 21st wedding anniversary in June.
She took to her main Instagram page to pen a loving tribute to Chip along with a few snaps of them posing together.
‘Twenty One Years. You’ve always had a way of taking a thought or a quiet dream I’ve tucked away, and helped me step into it and make it a reality.’
The star added, ‘What a journey, a wild and crazy (yet somehow peaceful) ride. So grateful to God for this life we get to share together.’
She uploaded a photo of the pair taking a snap in New York City in 2024 along with a throwback snap that was also taken in the Big Apple in 2003.
Social media users jumped to the comment section to send their congratulations over the milestone, while others marveled at how the couple ‘haven’t aged a day.’

Her mantle had branches, berries, candles and a wooden Nutcracker
Another room had an arrangement of Christmas tree pieces in a copper vase with a wooden tree nearby
In the kitchen there was garland around the stove which saw a large ivory pit and a copper one too
One fan typed out, ‘You both literally haven’t aged a day ❤️ get old already lol,’ while another added, ‘Both of you aged a week.’
Joanna and Chip also celebrated the 10th anniversary of Fixer Upper after recently starring in Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse – marking their first HGTV appearance since 2018.
However, the show received some backlash from fans, with some commenting that it appeared as if the two were ‘showing off’ following the release of the trailer.
Along with Crew, the couple also celebrated their other son, Duke, turning 16 in May.

At the time, she also jumped to her Instagram page to pay an emotional tribute to the teen who also got his driver’s license.
In the caption of a reel, she penned to her followers, ‘Third time doing this and it still makes mama cry. #16.’
During a recent appearance on Today, Joanna and Chip revealed the social media rule that their children follow.
‘Our house rule is you get social media the summer before you go to college. So we have that time, so 18. We have that time to kind of work through that,’ the mother-of-five said.
Chip then added, ‘But it’s a challenge! I mean, you can tell these kids want it before that.’
‘It’s not like it’s this agreed place to where we’ve all decided at roughly 18 and they’re like, “Oh thank goodness. I didn’t want it to begin with.” They want it at 12, 13, 14.’
Joanna revealed, ‘They’ve kind of been quiet about it. Like I’d say, I haven’t said anything to them but I’d say for the last year, no one’s asked for it.’
‘I think they just know the heart behind it, which is hard, I think because all their other friends have it. But I’m like, you have some other things.’
She added, ‘I think for us, it’s kind of one of those things where we can say, “You have these other things that are really great. Our life is a little different and we care about this specific thing.”
‘Especially for my girls, as they’re 14 and almost 17. Just that’s the age where a lot of things mentally, you’re influenced by…’
