The cost of living crisis is forcing Aussies to cut down on luxuries like beauty products but shoppers have found a hack to get a range of makeup and skincare items for just $5 – and it’s all for a good cause.
Chemist Warehouse is offering customers $2, $5 and $10 lucky dip bags which contain an array mystery items as part of the Liptember campaign raising funds for women’s mental health.
One beauty lover bought two of the $5 boxes from a Geelong store and received dozens of goodies she said could be worth more than $450.
‘RUUUNNNN, DON’T WALK to your local Chemist Warehouse,’ she alerted beauty lovers in a Facebook post.
‘Got two bags from Chemist Warehouse on Little Malop Street, Geelong. Yes, all of these for $10. Worth about $450+…Just go to your local Chemist Warehouse and ask for $5 lucky dip bags!’

Her two bags contained products including La Roche Posay Effaclar Ultra Concentrate Serum which retails at $41.99, Maybelline’s $13 Superstay 24 Hour Foundation and Nude by Nature’s Satin Liquid Lipstick which is normally $13 alone.
Members were wowed by the ultra-cheap deal and others shared what they had received in their own lucky dip boxes with one scoring a La Roche Posay anti-ageing serum worth almost $50 alone.
Many pointed out the lucky dip deal isn’t available at all Chemist Warehouse stores. and others complained they contain samples and discontinued products but some shoppers weren’t deterred.

‘I’m more than happy to spend my $10 for the two bags. Happy with what I got and I can use them for my dance performances. Would give the ones I won’t use to my friends,’ the woman said.
Videos of shoppers sharing their lucky dip bag finds have been flooding TikTok.
Sunshine Coast blogger Jess Poulter picked up a $10 lucky dip which came in a ‘cute’ Bondi Sands cosmetic bag worth $20.
Inside she found eight different beauty buys including QV Face Night Cream for $21.50 and MCoBeauty’s $20 Instant Concealer all worth more than $120.
Jess’s video quickly racked up more than half a million views in just two days and sent shoppers into a spin.
‘I would pay 10 bucks just for that bag,’ one viewer said.
‘For $10?? That’s an absolute steal these days,’ another wrote.
‘Just so everyone knows not all Chemist Warehouses do this bag, every store is doing different things to raise money for this!’ a third explained.
One woman asked if the products Jess received were in-date or close to expiring to which she replied: ‘The ones that had a date didn’t expire for a year!’
Participating Chemist Warehouse stores across Australia are offering lucky dip bags ranging from $2 to $10 with varying mystery items inside during the month of September.
100 per cent of the proceeds raised from the lucky dip bags will go to the Liptember Foundation which works to support women’s mental health.
