Trinny Woodall has added a microneedle to her hugely successful Trinny London skincare empire.
The British fashion and beauty entrepreneur has long raved about her love for the gadgets, which are known to transform the skin’s texture and enhance product absorption through tiny painless punctures.
The collagen-boosting device encourages the skin’s natural healing process through the use of 540 stainless steel, 0.5mm needles that are used across the skin.
Trinny, who uses her microneedle everywhere from the plane to the car, said she knew it was time to launch the $84 Plump Up Microneedle as she’s tried so many and ‘knows what works’.
‘It’s something that I’ve always had in my skincare routine – you can double the effectiveness of your existing skincare and help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles,’ Trinny told FEMAIL.

The 59-year-old, who puts her effortless glow down to a consistent skincare routine, regular treatments, plenty of sleep and supplements, uses her microneedle one to three times a week.
‘You could start with twice a week… I tend to do it on a Sunday evening. It’s always to be used in the evening and then you can build it up,’ she said.
‘I will cleanse my skin as normal. I put on my PHA [exfoliant] and then I microneedle. On these nights I then apply Plump Up because while it’s a very intense serum, it doesn’t have any ingredients that will aggravate your skin as you’ve created little channels for that formulation to go deeper.’
Trinny said she wouldn’t use Vitamin C with the gadget and instead opt for something that ‘feeds the skin well’ like Plump Up which has hydrating Hyaluronic Acid and powerful peptides.
‘I do light feathering motions and make sure I cover each part of my face. I don’t drag the needle when I use it, I moreso buff my skin,’ Trinny said. ‘Don’t forget the neck and the décolletage because they’re the areas we don’t tend to look after in our routine.’

‘Literally the next day you notice a difference in your skin and a plumpness coming back; in a way you’re damaging your skin to make it to make it react. And that process is something we really need because when we get post-30, we stop producing collagen.’
‘Collagen really is only produced if your skin is, to an extent, attacked and a microneedle on a very small level is attacking your skin. So its reaction is to stimulate more collagen.’
Trinny said her microneedle is safe and one of the best you can get on the market.
‘We have a protocol around our needle that is as important as the needle itself. So if you follow it, you will know how often you’re using it and changing the needles,’ she said.
‘All our education is to help you do that so it becomes a very different microneedle; it becomes one that you actually use and rely on, and therefore, has an effective place in your skincare routine. It’s amazing.’
The Plump Up Microneedle will be available in Australia and internationally on Wednesday October 4. It costs $84 for the gadget, $15 for cleaning spray and $46 for replacement heads.
