Priceline has announced its top 10 best-selling makeup buys of the year, including one brand that dominated the list and four product newcomers.
Maybelline New York had a whopping six beauty buys in the top 10 with three colourways of the brand’s Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara coming in at number one, two and five.
There were only two more brands, NYX Professional and Essence, featured in the best selling list with two makeup items each.
One makeup product is sold every two seconds at Priceline Pharmacy and 21 Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascaras are sold every hour.
Topping the list for the second year in a row was Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara in the colour ‘Blackest Black’ which is currently out of stock on the Priceline website.
The ultra-popular mascara’s shade ‘Cosmic Black’ entered the top selling list for the first time and ‘Very Black’ featured at number five.
The third best seller at Priceline was the Essence Extreme Shine Volume Lip Gloss in Crystal Clear which is just $4.50.
New to the top 10 in at fourth is the NYX Professional Makeup $14.99 Brow Glue Stick perfect for the ultimate laminated look.
Maybelline New York makes a return at number six with the brand’s $18.99 Lasting Fix Setting Spray.
Making its debut in the most-popular list, the Maybelline $23 Instant Age Rewind Eraser Concealer in the light shade which makes dark circles disappear and brightens the eye for a fresh, awake look.
Another Maybelline best seller is the $16 Eye Studio Master Liner 24 hour pencil in black.
In ninth place is Essence’s clear Lash and Brow Gel Mascara for only $5 which is used to tame unruly eyebrows and eyelashes.
Scraping into the leading 10 in NYX’s Makeup Setting Spray which costs just $16.99 and has been raking in five-star reviews on the Priceline site as user report it leave skin feeling healthy and soft.
While it didn’t make the top 10 cult brand e.l.f. is growing at a impressive rate of 1000 per cent among Priceline customers.
Priceline Cosmetic Category Manager Samantha Frost shared her makeup trend predictions for summer.
She said buyer habits from the past year are showing beauty lovers are ‘still crushing’ on a luminous complexion favouring ‘glowy primers and setting sprays’ as well as ‘skin-loving foundations’.
‘Pops of colour are having a renaissance with bright eyeliners and vibrant eye shadows ready to create fun summer looks,’ she said.
‘Dewy cream blush formulas are everywhere – quick to apply on the go and perfect for a natural glowing finish.’
