The two Yankees fans involved in the Mookie Betts incident in Game 4 of the World Series have now been banned from returning tonight.
According to the New York Post, they are having their tickets refunded for Game 5 after trying to rip the ball out of Betts’ glove when the Dodgers star caught Gleyber Torres by the wall in foul territory.
‘I know when I’m in the wrong and as soon as I did it, I was like, ‘Boys I’m out of here”. I patrol that wall and they know that,’ Austin Capobianco, a Yankees season ticket holder, told ESPN.
‘We always joke about the ball in our area. Someone defends, someone knocks the ball. We talk about it. We’re willing to do this.’
Capobianco said to ESPN he was told he would be able to go back on Wednesday night but that is no longer the case. ESPN also later reported on Wednesday that MLB asked the Yankees to ban Capobianco and his friend.

The friends were escorted out the stadium but thought they were going to be back for Game 5
NFL legend Rob Gronkowski revealed on Wednesday that he personally knows Capobianco and wasn’t surprised to see what had happened at the game.
Betts himself downplayed the incident when he spoke to reporters after his team lost.
‘It’s irrelevant, we lost,’ he told reporters. ‘Didn’t matter. ‘I didn’t even know he grabbed my hand, so [my hand] is perfectly fine.’
But some of Betts’ teammates struck an angrier tone. Ben Casparius claimed that he believed the clash ‘set the tone’ for the game. ‘
‘I’ve never seen anything like it,’ the Dodgers pitcher said. ‘It was obviously very early in the game so I think it kind of set the tone.’
And Tommy Edman was also unimpressed, saying: ‘The guy was trying to yank his glove off and pulled on his wrist and it looked like he got ejected, which I’m glad he did. That was unacceptable for a fan.’
The Yankees beat the Dodgers 11-4 on Tuesday to keep the World Series alive, but Los Angeles still holds a commanding 3-1 lead.
The Yankees have to win in the Bronx on Wednesday. If they do, the final two games will be held back at Dodger Stadium on Friday and Saturday night.
