Fat Joe’s opening number preceding Game 3 of the 2024 World Series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers had a terrible reception from MLB fans.
As the series shifted from the California Hills to the Boogie Down Bronx, the home team had the 54-year-old rapper welcome fans to Yankee Stadium as they entered the game with a 0-2 deficit.
However, the New York native’s lackluster performance as he walked around the diamond led fans to palm their faces and scratch their scalps. They then flamed the rapper on X for doing more ad-libbing than rapping during the four-minute mashup.
‘That man Fat Joe on the mound in Tims,’ one captioned screen shots of Fat Joe during the performance. ‘I KNOW them groundskeepers off camera having a heart attack.’
‘Fat Joe opening up for the Yankees might be one of the worst things I’ve ever witnessed,’ a second added.

A fourth posted a video of a man smashing a TV set while watching a game and captioned: ‘Yankees fans watching Fat Joe single handedly kill Yankee Stadium’s aura.’
Other fans took the Yankees countering Ice Cube’s Game 2 performance in Los Angeles with Fat Joe as a sign of things to come for the Yankees.
‘Dodgers brought out Ice Cube and the Yankees brought out Fat Joe,’ a fifth fan wrote with two crying emojis to caption a five-second clip of Shannon Sharpe crying.
‘Yankees brought in fat Joe to represent the Bronx … we lost,’ a sixth wrote.

‘Fat Joe performance had big ‘Dodgers in 4′ energy,’ a seventh declared.
After the Dodgers took an immediate 2-0 lead on top of the first inning, another user claimed, ‘This home run is on Fat Joe. Plain and simple.’
One fan said the rapper was ‘battling it out for worst World Series performance’ with Nestor Cortes, the Yankees pitcher who was hit for a walk-off grand slam in Game 1.
The Yankees had an unpleasant start to the World Series despite besting the Guardians in the ALCS. In Game 1, the Bronx Bombers blew a 3-2 lead with the game at their mercy as Freddy Freeman scored the walk-off slam to win the game 6-3.
Game 2 was not better for the Yankees as the Dodgers won 4-2, remaining in the driver’s seat despite Shohei Ohtani sustaining a shoulder injury and leaving early.
The Dodgers derailed a Subway Series for all the marbles by defeating the New York Mets in six games in the NLCS after beating the San Diego Padres in five games to advance.
