Demi Moore is sharing the latest health update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis, who’s the father of her three daughters.
While attending the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival in New York on Sunday, where she was honored with the Career Achievement in Acting Award, the actress described his current state as being ‘stable’ amid his diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD).
‘You know, I’ve said this before. The disease is what the disease is. And I think you have to be in real deep acceptance of what that is,’ Moore told the audience during a live discussion moderated by Alina Cho, as reported by People. ‘But for where he’s at, he is stable.’
Moore most recently visited with Willis, whom she was married to for 13 years, just two days prior to HIFF event, for a visit with their first-ever grandchild, daughter Rumer’s baby girl Louetta.
The longtime Hollywood leading lady goes into such outings with Willis with the idea that they will be ‘able to share with whatever we have, for however long we have it.’

The A Few Good Men star also holds the belief that it’s best to stay in the moment when it comes to her ex-husband’s progressing illness, and not just think of him in terms of who he had always been in years past.
‘What I always encourage is to just meet them where they’re at. When you’re holding on to what was, I think it’s a losing game,’ the Los Angeles native told riveted fans and journalists. ‘But when you show up to meet them where they’re at, there is great beauty and sweetness.’
The former couple met at the premiere of the movie Stakeout in July, where Moore was attending with her then-fiancé, Emilio Estevez.
Soon after the premiere, Moore and Willis began dating and were on the fast track to getting married just months later in November of that same year.
During their romance they welcomed three daughters, Rumer, 36, who just welcomed Louetta, her first child with partner Derek Richard Thomas in April 2023, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.
Ultimately they announced their separation in June 1998, but their divorce didn’t get finalized until 2000.
Despite the split, the former couple have remained close friends and shared the co-parenting duties of their three daughters over the years.
Willis went on to marry his second wife Emma Heming in 2009, and they would welcomes to daughters of their own: Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.

During Moore’s appearance at HIFF Moore dished about some of her career highlights such as the hit films Ghost (1990), Indecent Proposal (1993), A Few Good Men (1992), Gi Jane (1997), as well as her Brat Pack days in such 80s classics St. Elmos Fire (1985) and About Last Night… (1986).
She touched on what it meant to her to watch a reel of her films backstage before she was eventually presented with her award.
‘I felt like I was watching a lot of life,’ she said, before adding, ‘Actually feels like lifetimes, because the gift is that we get to keep changing and growing. What I was thinking is, ‘Thank God I kept getting opportunities to get better.”‘
For her latest role, Moore stars in the satirical body horror The Substance, which dropped in the U.S. and UK in late September, alongside Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid.
