Australian families are beating the cost of living crunch by shopping at a little-known discount warehouse where groceries are almost 80 per cent off.
NQR (Not Quite Right) has 27 locations all over South Australia and Victoria.
The supermarket purchases its stock from manufacturers and sells buys close to their best-before dates and overproduced items – which is why you won’t find fresh food in-stores.
Recent specials include Red Rock Deli chips for $2, 1kg Yoplait mango yoghurt for $3, 1kg Bertocci bacon for $12, and more.
The discount chain is perfect for stocking up on cleaning essentials and pantry staples like rice, canned lentils, pasta, sauces, and instant noodles.
CEO Ewan Jones told FEMAIL: ‘We’re the cheapest supermarket in Australia. We pride ourselves on getting the price right for our customers and NQR is the best for snacks and freezer foods. We sell yoghurt for $1 and it’s $7 at other supermarkets.’
He added, ‘Our goal is to help the customer who is struggling. You can really stock up on chips and drinks – it’s cheaper across the board than any other supermarket.
‘If I was a customer I’d shop at NQR first and get my deals before I buy fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat elsewhere. The amount of money you save really adds up.’

You will also find confectionery items and frozen food on shelves.
Shoppers have commended the discounts on gluten-free and dairy-free items as they usually retail for higher in other supermarkets because of the dietary restrictions.
Many have shared their awe of the supermarket online on Facebook and Reddit.
‘I’ve only just started shopping [at NQR] but I’m overwhelmed with the value on offer. They just go where no major supermarket chain goes, including Aldi.
‘Currently feasting on two buckets of noodles for $1.20 and a tub organic yogurt for $3.50. You can also pick up three packets of rice crackers for $1, they retail for $2.20 at Woolworths,’ one said.

‘Love NQR, I have the only sweet tooth in the family so I get all my supplies from there. They often get Ben and Jerrys runout flavours and have them as low as $3 a tub,’ a man wrote.
‘I buy my bulk staples here. There should be more of these stores!’ a third said.
A few offered some words of advice about shopping at discount stores like NQR.
‘The biggest thing to remember here is that if you see something you want, buy it immediately. They often have short date and end of run stock and you can’t rely on it still being there next week, or ever available again.
‘I’ve lost count of the times my wife has seen something here (or at the reject shop), then decided a day later to get it only to find it gone and never to be seen again at those prices,’ a man shared.
