Fashion lovers have been left in the lurch after Vogue abruptly ended its YouTube livestream of the 2025 Met Gala red carpet before the highly anticipated arrivals of Kim Kardashian and Rihanna.
The Met Gala, which took place on Monday evening, saw celebrities and fashion icons grace the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
This year’s theme for the annual event was ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,’ which aimed to explore black dandyism from the 18th century to its revival during the Harlem Renaissance and its impact on fashion today.
Although invites to the ritzy gala can cost up to $75,000 per person, onlookers can catch glimpses of the festivities unfold from outside the Met museum or on Vogue’s official livestream of the event.
Each year, fans have tuned into Vogue’s YouTube channel for up-close interviews with the likes of Kardashian, Rihanna, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour herself.
In recent years, however, both the Umbrella singer and the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum have arrived fashionably late to the Met Gala, making viewers wait until the very end of the red carpet livestream for a sneak peek at their elaborate ensembles.

Kim Kardashian, 44, arrived fashionably late at the 2025 Met Gala just moments after Vogue ended its YouTube livestream of the red carpet

The billionaire businesswoman is known for being one of the last A-listers to arrive at the annual fashion event

She was previously seen leaving The Carlyle Hotel with her daughter North West, 11, before hitting the Met Gala blue carpet
But that all came to a shocking end when Vogue cut its livestream short without any sight of Kardashian or Rihanna, who revealed she was pregnant with her third child just hours before the Met Gala.
On X/Twitter, fans complained about missing out on the arrivals of some of their favorite celebrities.
‘The stream ended… now we won’t see the live footage of Jenna dropping the coat,’ one fan of Wednesday star Jenna Ortega cried in their post.
‘Stayed up until nearly 2am to see Charli XCX walk the Met Gala carpet and they finished the livestream before she arrived,’ another user said.
‘MET GALA LIVESTREAM JUST ENDED & CARDI STILL NOT HERE.. WHAT IS GOING ON YALL,’ a third person wrote about rapper Cardi B.
Despite Vogue cutting the festivities short, Kardashian still made her way to the Met Gala as she was caught leaving her hotel just moments before the YouTube stream ended.

The 44-year-old billionaire was seen leaving her hotel to head to the Met Gala with her 11-year-old daughter, North West, when Kardashian faced a near-fall after a security guard accidentally stepped on the train of her dress.
After stumbling forward, the SKIMS founder angrily turned towards the man and said something to him before she held up her hand with a harsh look on her face.
The awkward moment was caught on video and shared to TikTok.
Meanwhile, her sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner also walked the Met Gala’s blue carpet wearing structured gowns in line with the evening’s dress code, ‘Tailored For You.’
Kendall opted for a gray skirt and matching top with an extremely low-cut V neckline.
As for her sister Kylie, she wore a black and gray corset dress that had a thigh-high slit, showcasing her ample cleavage and long legs.

However, Rihanna has yet to arrive to the Met Gala after shocking fans with her pregnancy news outside the Carlyle Hotel in New York on Monday afternoon.
The Fenty Beauty founder is already a proud mother to two sons – RZA, two, and Riot, one – whom she shares with boyfriend A$AP Rocky.
The rapper, 36, was named as co-chair for this year’s Met Gala, forcing him to arrive early to the event along with fellow co-chairs Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, and Wintour.
