    The beautiful country with the highest annual salary for expats revealed – Brits could earn £25,000 more than in UK

    Looking to move abroad and earn more while you do it?  

    New research from Remitly has revealed the countries that have a much higher average annual wage than the UK. 

    The experts looked at global data to find out where Britons could earn the most as a digital nomad. 

    And it turns out that Luxembourg is the best option for Brits looking to bump up their annual salary. 

    The average annual wage in Luxembourg is £71,042. according to Remitly – more than £25,000 higher than the UK’s (£45,555). 

    One of the smallest countries in Europe, Luxembourg is bordered by France, Germany and Belgium. 

    While the country is known for its high prices, public transport is completely free which means expats living there will at least be able to save on petrol.

    Rounding off the top three is the USA which has an average annual salary of £63,343 –  £17,788 more than the UK’s average salary a year. 

    Belgium ranks fourth (£57,880), Norway comes fifth (£56,905) and Austria is sixth (£56,268). 

    The rest of the top 10 is made up of the Netherlands (7th, £55,492), Denmark (8th, £54,970), Australia (9th, £53,054) and Canada (10th, £52,350). 

    At the other end of the scale is Greece which has an average annual salary of just £24,000. 

    Digital nomads will need to be earning higher than the country’s average salary to qualify for a visa in Greece as the application requires expats to earn at least £26,455. 

    And if you’re looking for an easy and quick move overseas, it’s Latvia that’s the best option, according to Remitly. 

    The team explain that Latvia’s digital nomad visa costs just £83 and takes around 10 working days to process. 

    Applicants also only need to be earning £20,500 per year to qualify for the Latvian visa.

    Italy’s visa is the most affordable option as it only costs applicants £41. 

    On the flipside, Australia is the most expensive option for digital nomads who will need to fork out £1,569 just to apply. 

    Looking to retire abroad instead? New research has revealed which cities are the cheapest for expats. 

    According to InterNations, Valencia, a gorgeous city on the Spanish coast is the most affordable place to live as a foreign resident.
