A British tourist who was allegedly repeatedly raped by a taxi driver in Paris was found ‘crying and in a state of utter fear’ in a garden in the early hours of the morning.
The alleged attack took place in Bois de Boulogne, a large Parisian public park, on Saturday morning, French newspaper Le Figaro reported. The Bois du Boulogne is an area notorious for nocturnal sexual activities, including prostitution and partner swapping.
The taxi driver, who has not yet been arrested, picked the woman up while she was on a night out with her friend. They were aiming to get back to Hauts-de-Seine, a suburb in Western Paris.
The driver is said to have stopped enroute to allow the woman and her friend to leave the vehicle to use a toilet.
He is said to have then locked the British woman, who got into the car before her friend, in the car before speeding away.
After driving to the public park, he then allegedly beat and raped her repeatedly.
She was able to escape from the parked car and ran away, taking refuge in a garden in Neuilly-sur-Siene, just north of the public park.
There, at around 7am, the terrified woman was found sobbing and in shock by the homeowner.

The victim was treated for injuries by Paris emergency workers, and then taken to the Raymond Poincaré University Hospital nearby for further tests, and for police interviews.
Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing, with the 1st District of the Judicial Police heading the case, the Paris prosecutor’s office confirmed.
On Monday, police patrols were searching for the driver, while also checking CCTV and interviewing potential witnesses.
The horrific incident comes after a 34-year-old British tourist was raped after being drugged in a Paris bar in August.
The woman, who was not named, was found by her friends who had reported her missing from a night out in the French capital on August 30.
She had gone to dinner with her pals that night, and took one of the group to a hookah bar in the 16th arrondissement at around 4am the following morning after being invited by a man they had met that night.
She told police that her next memory was waking up in an unfamiliar room, before realising she had been raped, according to local media.
Just a month prior, harrowing security footage revealed the moment a visibly distressed Australian woman sought refuge inside a Paris kebab shop after being gang raped – only to be confronted by one of the men who had assaulted her minutes earlier.
French authorities launched a major investigation into the brazen attack, which took place in the early hours of July 20 in the northern Pigalle district, just days before the Olympics began.
The woman, 25, had spent the night before drinking in the bars and clubs around the Moulin Rouge cabaret before the men approached her in an unspecified location.
She told police she was set upon by a pack of five men ‘of African appearance’ and brutally raped at about 5am before escaping and seeking safety in the nearby Dounia kebab shop.
