The 2025 SAG Awards saw the best TV and film shows of the past year celebrated on a global stage.
Yet it was the red carpet displays that had social media alight on Sunday night as fans remarked on several of the actresses showcasing noticeably slimmer figures.
Amid the industry’s ongoing fixation with the weight-loss drug Ozempic, several stars turned heads with their body transformations as they descended upon the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The Ozempic craze has reached new heights, with countless celebrities either openly crediting the medication for their transformations or sparking speculation with their visibly trimmer appearances.
Oscar winner Kathy Bates, who has revealed that the drug aided her 100-pound weight loss, showed off her slender frame in a sleek black suit.
Meanwhile, Brooke Shields, Demi Moore, Ariana Grande, and Georgina Chapman all made bold entrances while appearing noticeably more svelte.

Fans observed, ‘Demi Moore looking really skinny… #SAGAwards‘; ‘Looks like Ozempic could be the culprit. Even the already skinny celebs are wasting away. Check out recent pics of Nicole Kidman and Brooke Shields. YIKES!!’
Moore, 62, displayed her lithe physique in a skintight black gown as she picked up the Best Actress gong for her role in The Substance, a body horror film about an aging actress who resorts to drastic measures to reclaim her youth.
To prepare for the film, she followed a strict diet and exercise regimen, including biking and dance cardio.
Moore also fell victim to the shingles virus while filming, which she said caused her to drop 20 pounds.
Dr Sue Decotiis, a New York City-based weight loss doctor, told DailyMail.com: ‘Demi’s collar bones are really prominent. It looks like there’s no fat there at all. You can see her tendons in her neck.
Dr Schimpf noted that a pronounced clavicle is a solid ‘giveaway’ that a star is using Ozempic or something similar.
He added: ‘The people who’ve lost dramatic weight, and especially with those weight loss drugs, it’s almost like their head looks too big for their body.’

Fashion designer Chapman, 48, displayed her trim figure in a striking black ruffled gown.
Shields, 59, opted for a silver body-hugging couture dress, accentuating a noticeably leaner silhouette.
Bates, 76, displayed her slimmed-down figure in a trouser suit after she opened up about her weight loss journey.
Over the past seven years, the star dropped a total of 80lbs after focusing on a healthier lifestyle, and lost an additional 20lbs after using Ozempic.
During an interview with People in October, she expressed: ‘There’s been a lot of talk that I just was able to do this because of Ozempic.
‘But I have to impress upon people out there that this was hard work for me, especially during the pandemic. It’s very hard to say you’ve had enough.’
She was inspired to put her health first after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in 2017. ‘I ate because I was afraid, and I ate because it was a FU to my self-esteem.’
‘[Diabetes] runs in my family, and I’d seen what my father had gone through. He had had a leg amputation. One of my sisters is dealing with it very seriously, and it terrified me. It scared me straight.’
Bates made changes to her diet and admitted to the outlet that she ‘used to eat terribly.’

Grande also turned heads with her appearance at the SAG Awards (right, in 2018)

Selena Gomez also raised eyebrows with her noticeably slimmer frame. However, she has been candid that her lupus medication is responsible for her weight fluctuations (right, in 2024)

Grande, 31, also turned heads with her appearance at the SAG Awards.
For the red carpet she donned an ethereal off-the-shoulder gown—complete with a pleated cowl, a flowing mesh train, and delicate pink floral accents.
Friends have expressed concern that the actress’ non-stop schedule is taking a toll on her health.
‘It’s physically so demanding,’ a former colleague of Grande’s said of the Wicked Star’s schedule, according to Page Six.
‘I don’t even think your body knows when it needs to eat,’ the former co-worker explained.
‘You’re sleeping when you’re supposed to be up, and you’re up when you’re supposed to be sleeping,’ they explained.
‘Between that, and the fashion women deal with – the hair, the makeup, and the nails – it’s nonstop running. It’s superhuman,’ the insider declared.
‘It’s just the non-stop running on that kind of schedule and that kind of level. It definitely takes a toll on your health — it’s that much harder to take care of yourself — mentally as well as physically,’ they added.
That kind of tough schedule means, ‘You always have to be on. You have to really be measured about what you say, you always have to be thinking, “If I say this, is it going to come out like this?” Your brain is nonstop working.’
Sheryl Lee Ralph, 68 —who has denied using Ozempic— donned a crisp white tuxedo shirt paired with a flowing black skirt that showed off a her shrinking figure.

Fans took to social media to express their shock at the slimmer celebrities on the carpet
Selena Gomez also raised eyebrows with her noticeably slimmer frame.
However, she has been candid that her lupus medication is responsible for her weight fluctuations.
The 32-year-old Wolves singer exuded confidence and radiance in a floor-length Celine dress, featuring off-the-shoulder sleeves and a daring thigh-high slit.
One social media user even remarked that Gomez ‘looks different every time’ they see her.
After her appearance at the Golden Globes, Dr Dennis Schimpf, a board-certified plastic surgeon, told DailyMail.com that Ms Gomez is ‘definitely thin,’ but she isn’t ‘wasting or gaunt, which is normally kind of the giveaway.’
He said: ‘Hers would be the hardest to know for sure. I would be surprised if she had done it just because of her other medical problems and her starting weight not being really heavy.
‘I’ve read a few things about her and that she kind of adopted a more healthy lifestyle and exercises. ‘A lot of times, it’s not necessarily just one thing like the GLP treatment, but also kind of a combination of lifestyle as well as dietary habits.’

Moore — who is on track for an Oscar win — snagged a best actress nod for her lead role in The Substance, which has already earned her a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Award

The 31st Screen Actors Guild Awards clarified the road to the Oscars and ended with upset wins.
Moore cemented her comeback status when she won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, while Timothée Chalamet shocked awards prognosticators when he won the Male Actor in a Leading Role award for his Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.
Moore beat out Pamela Anderson, who was hoping for her own comeback win for Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl, after earning her first-ever SAG nomination.
Conclave also continued its awards-season success by winning the final honor of the night for Cast in a Motion Picture for the papal-selection drama Conclave.
The SAG Awards were held Sunday night at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.
The annual ceremony, which was hosted by Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell, was streamed live on Netflix for the second year in a row.
It was presented by the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and bills itself as the ‘only televised awards ceremony to exclusively honor actors.’
During the hours-long ceremony, 13 awards were handed for ‘outstanding performances’ in both film and TV that were decided on by SAG-AFTRA’s 130,000+ members.

The musical blockbuster Wicked — based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical — led the nominations for SAG’s top film honors with five nods, but the film and its stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were completely shut out
According to the official website, the SAG Awards have ‘the largest voting body on the awards circuit.’
Unlike prior years, the official SAG Awards nomination ceremony was canceled for 2025 in wake of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that broke out in January.
Instead, SAG-AFTRA shared the nominations online.
The musical blockbuster Wicked — based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical — led the nominations for SAG’s top film honors with five nods, but the film and its stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were completely shut out.
Ariana kept a brave face as the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role went to Zoe Saldaña for Emilia Pérez.
That film’s awards-season hopes cratered after racist and Islamophobic tweets — with some quite recent — from its star Karla Sofía Gascón were discovered, but Zoe managed to triumph anyway.
Selena Gomez wasn’t nominated for the film individually and missed out on its ensemble nomination after Conclave’s win, but she still got a boost when she accepted the best comedy ensemble award for Only Murders In The Building, which had a surprise win over competitors The Bear, Abbott Elementary, Hacks and Shrinking.
Anora had high hopes ahead of the SAG Awards, but it also went home empty-handed despite a string of wins in recent weeks that boosted its odds for the upcoming Academy Awards.

It’s star Hiroyuki Sanada took home the lead actor award, while Anna Sawai gave an emotional speech when she won the supporting actress prize.
The show also nabbed the best ensemble award, as well as the best stunt cast honor.
Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning continued her winning streak by beating fellow frontrunner Cristin Milioti, who starred in The Penguin.
Her costar Colin Farrell was luckier, and he came out on top ahead of Baby Reindeer’s Richard Gadd and Ripley’s Andrew Scott for the supervillain origin story.
Host Kristen Bell was also among the night’s nominees, as she received a best female actor in a comedy series nod for Netflix’s Nobody Wants This alongside The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri and Hacks’ Jean Smart.
Smart proved to be unstoppable and took home the award, though she wasn’t able to attend the ceremony.
Stunt crews that have worked on the latest and greatest TV shows and movies are were also being recognized at the 2025 ceremony.

In a statement, SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher described Fonda, 87 — a two-time Oscar-winner with a career spanning over six decades — as a ‘trailblazer and an extraordinary talent.
‘[Fonda is] a dynamic force who has shaped the landscape of entertainment, advocacy and culture with unwavering passion,’ the Nanny star continued.
‘We honor Jane not only for her artistic brilliance but for the profound legacy of activism and empowerment she has created.’
