An official synopsis teased that the episode will see ‘the mysterious death of a college admissions officer.

‘The case also causes Elsbeth — the titular character — and Teddy (Ben Levi Ross) to question how well she prepared him for the real world.’
In an preview from the forthcoming episode, Lawrence is seen diving into a case while Carl (James), a high-ranking ‘success trainer’ at Outmatch Educational Consulting, observes.
As Carl steps into his office, Elsbeth wastes no time questioning his connection to the character Ethan.
To which Lawrence replies: ‘He was one of my early success stories. He was just a scrawny little kid in his high school drama club, always puffing on his inhaler. I helped him find fencing which changed his life.’
When pressed about Ethan’s asthma, Carl doesn’t hesitate. ‘That was something he mentioned to everyone,’ he replies.
Elsbeth then shifts her focus to Lawrence’s team, scrutinizing the role his employees play in shaping young minds.
‘So all these young people are helping high school seniors?’ she asks in the clip.
Lawrence quickly corrects her. ‘Oh no, we usually start younger,’ he explains, to which Elsbeth quips, ‘That explains the sandbox.’
