Beau Ryan has revealed how an interview with an A-lister ended in a hair-raising encounter with the star’s personal security man.
The one-time NRL champ said he was doing an interview with UK-born star Jason Statham when The Transporter actor’s bodyguard crash-tackled him to the ground.
Beau, 39, said the incident finished with him handcuffed and marched out of the interview room.
The Amazing Race host shared the gobsmacking confrontation on Tuesday morning’s episode of Triple M’s Breakfast with Beau, Tarsh and Woodsy.
During the chat Beau explained that his interview with Statham, 57, took place overseas when he was a presenter on The Footy Show.
He said that the five minute interview was ‘going well’ until Beau decided to ask Statham about his one-time career as a Commonwealth Games athlete in the UK’s diving team.

The cheeky former Cronulla Shark’s star said that he was wearing his old clubs swimmers and had decided to show them to an unsuspecting Statham.
Beau continued: ‘…I had the shark Speedos (on), remember them, basically, (they) had a tail at the back and a little shark head on the front…
‘So the last question was a truth or dare. And I said, “Mate, Truth or Dare, what would you like?” He said, “I’ll take dare”. I said, “Well, you’ve dared me to show you what I would wear if I was a Commonwealth Games diver.”
‘As I’ve stood up to pull my pants off, I’ve been crash tackled to the ground by security.
‘Hands down, like knee in the back, sort of like I was handcuffed behind and then walked out of there.
‘As I was hit down, [the bodyguards was like], “What are you doing, mate? You’re trying to reveal yourself. Mate, he’s got a weapon.” And got escorted out of there.’
Beau also shared with his co-hosts that he had to return home to Australia empty handed.
‘And then, you know what? They didn’t give me the card or the tape, and I had to fly back to Sydney with no evidence.

‘So, you’ve gone, so you’ve made up that story?’ Natarsha Belling joked.
Beau revealed that his executive producer was none too pleased with his effort.
‘[He asked] ‘Where’s the Statham interview?’ And I told him, what happened. I didn’t do another Hollywood interview after that last one.’
It comes after Beau recently shared details about his very controversial walkout on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia in 2022.
Speaking on Triple M’s Beau, Tarsh & Woodsy on Tuesday, the radio star said his stint on the Channel Ten show was filmed during Covid lockdowns and left him feeling exhausted.
‘Watching the new season of IAC last night, brought back a lot of memories. It was a Covid series and about a month before I agreed to go on the jungle, we were meant to go on The Amazing Race for a season so I’d done quarantine,’ Beau began.
‘Then it was deemed too dangerous to continue the series. I was 12 days in to quarantine, came out and agreed to do the jungle… two more weeks of quarantine!’
Beau said the consecutive stints in isolation took a toll on both his mental and physical wellbeing and he was not in a good place when he began his stint on IAC.
‘I was so mentally cooked and physically drained. I just had to get home. I was concerned about my wife who was home-schooling the kids,’ he continued.
‘My wife was alone with the kids, no access to family. I’m not making any excuses, I carried on like a pork chop.’
The presenter added that while he regretted leaving the show under such circumstances he had to do what was right for his family.
In 2022, in what was I’m a Celebrity’s eighth season, Beau walked out on the 14th day in the jungle – which cost him $200,000.
His reason was sparked by a late-night discussion with his campmates, where he admitted he missed his family and needed to leave.
