Bernie Sanders said that Joe Biden‘s biggest failure as president was not being ‘strong enough’ or able to communicate his economic policies to ordinary working-class Americans.
The Vermont Senator and steadfastly stood by his former presidential rival after Biden’s Georgia debate disaster in June but admitted in a new interview that Biden’s messaging was weak and incoherent.
While he claimed Biden’s record on domestic policy was ‘strong,’ Sanders told streamer Hasan Piker that he fell short of his goals.
‘He has not been the kind of leader and communicator that made that record understandable to the American people,’ the 83-year-old Democratic Socialist said.
Despite listing several things he felt Biden had done well in his four years – including being ‘unashamedly pro-labor’ – Sanders said that Biden had ultimately been a disappointment.
‘The truth is, given where the American worker is today, it is simply not enough,’ he said.
Sanders claimed Biden should have gone further on his progressive agenda, raising the minimum wage and expanding Medicare.
The Vermont socialist even went as far as naming something Biden did poorly compared to Donald Trump.

Sanders, 83, has admitted in a new interview with popular leftist streamer Hasan Piker that Biden’s messaging was weak and incoherent
‘Biden has accomplished a lot but he does not do what Trump does and identify enemies,’ he said.
He said that while Trump tends to place the blame on migrants or transgender people, Biden refuses to use equally strong messaging on corporate greed.
‘They talk about them, but not quite forcefully enough or present specific policies to deal with that,’ Sanders added.
He did single out Lina Khan as ‘one of the heroines of that administration’ but had little positive to say about what the Democrats did in November.
Sanders admitted that Trump would ‘bring about change’ and the Democrats defended the system.
Piker asked Sanders if the Democrats failed to communicate that they would bring about change.
‘No,’ said Sanders with his typical bluntness. ‘I don’t think it’s a question of communication, I think it’s what Democrats stand for.’
Just before the president dropped out of the election, Sanders admitted Joe Biden ‘is old, prone to gaffes, walks stiffly and had a disastrous debate with Trump.’
The Vermont Rep outlined his issues with Biden but condemned a vocal ‘firing squad’ who have become focused on the president’s age

The Democrat Senator laid out his views in an essay for the New York Times , in which he accepted that the president is ‘not the ideal candidate.’
However, he warned his party’s supporters that obsessing over Biden’s blunders would only ensure that Donald Trump is elected.
Sanders, 82, specifically took aim at a vocal set of elected Democrats, whom he labeled a ‘firing squad,’ who have been calling for the president to drop out since the presidential debate.
‘Enough! Mr. Biden may not be the ideal candidate, but he will be the candidate and should be the candidate,’ Sanders wrote.
‘And with an effective campaign that speaks to the needs of working families, he will not only defeat Mr. Trump but beat him badly. It’s time for Democrats to stop the bickering and nit-picking.’
The Vermont rep admitted that he and the president do not see eye to eye on several issues including U.S. support for Israel’s war on Gaza and the Affordable Care Act, which he views as inadequate.
However, he defended the president’s ‘excellent’ record in office, as well as his performance in the last few weeks.
Biden dropped out nearly eight days after he published that essay.
