LeBron James is praying for the end of the ‘nightmare’ engulfing Los Angeles as wildfires continue to devastate California.
By Saturday morning, the disaster had already claimed the lives of at least 11 people and destroyed more than 10,000 structures.
Lakers coach JJ Redick and Warriors coach Steve Kerr are among those to have lost their homes in the flames.
And as firefighters continue to battle the fires around California, James sent a message to the people of his adopted hometown.
‘I pray this nightmare ends soon!’ the four-time NBA champion wrote on social media. ‘So many prayers,’ he added.
The wildfires have disrupted the sporting calendar in Los Angeles, with Saturday’s game between the Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs postponed.

The NBA also pushed back the LA Clippers’ game against the Charlotte Hornets, which was slated for Saturday, too.
‘The game postponements ensure no resources will be diverted from the wildfire response efforts,’ the NBA said.
‘The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association are donating $1million… to support those affected by this disaster and are working with the Lakers and Clippers on ways to support longer term assistance and rebuilding efforts.’
Warriors coach Kerr lost his childhood home, while Redick’s house in Pacific Palisades has also been destroyed.
The Los Angeles Lakers head coach admitted Friday that he hasn’t ‘wept or wailed like that in several years.’
‘I was not prepared for what I saw,’ Redick said. ‘It’s complete devastation and destruction.
‘I had to go a different way to the house, but I went through most of the village, and it’s all gone. I don’t think you can ever prepare yourself for something like that. Our home is gone.’
Redick said the rented home burned down Tuesday while the Lakers were on the road in Dallas.

JJ Redick confirmed the reports he and his family lost their rented home in Pacific Palisades
Redick’s wife, Chelsea, and their two sons were safely away from the neighborhood, but Redick drove into Pacific Palisades on Wednesday to see the fire’s impact.
‘Everything that we owned that was of any importance to us in almost 20 years together as a couple and 10 years of parenting was in that house,’ Redick said.
‘There’s certain things that you can’t replace, that will never be replaced.
‘The material stuff is whatever. My family and I were processing the self side, the individual side, of losing your home, and you don’t ever want to wish that on anybody. It’s an awful feeling to lose your home.’
