But Hyperoptic has crashed this morning, leaving thousands unable to access the internet.
According to Down Detector, the problems started at around 10:00am and are affecting users across the UK.
Hyperoptic soon confirmed the outage on X adding it is ‘working on a resolution’.
‘We’re aware of some connection issues caused by technical problems with our servers,’ it tweeted.
‘Our team is actively investigating and working on a resolution.
‘Thank you for your patience and understanding – we’re committed to getting you back online as quickly as possible!’
About 45 minutes later it said the issue is resolved and affected customers should be back online, but some are still reporting issues.

So far, more than 4,000 issues have been logged on Down Detector. Of those who reported problems, 76 per cent said the issue was with their internet, while 20 per cent were suffering a total blackout. The remaining five per cent said the issue was with Hyperoptic’s website

Several disgruntled users have also taken to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss the outage.
‘Complete outage in North London – can’t even access your website to check service status (and that’s using mobile network data, not wifi)… an update would be great as it seems we’re not the only ones,’ one user wrote.
Another added: ‘Excellent – usually very reliable #Hyperoptic looks like it’s down…no internet isn’t ideal.’
And one vented: ‘your service has gotten so bad over the last 6 months, what happened?? from connection issues to support response times everything has gotten so much worse….’
At 11:13am, Hyperoptic said on X that all affected customers should be back online, thanking them for their patience.
