Marks and Spencer has left shoppers in hysterics with its new range of confectionery for Valentine’s Day – which contains some unusually phallic items.
Planning well ahead for the annual day of love, the British retailer has released a brand new range of amorous chocolates – a selection which has left innuendo-loving social media users hysterics.
The supermarket has unveiled a handful of chocolate treats, two of which have caught the attention of shoppers for their ‘naughty’ and suggestive designs.
A new milk chocolate Love Struck arrow has attracted the most attention online, with hundreds of shoppers humoured by its suggestive design.
One described the design, which features a long arrow with a red love heart tip, as being ‘solid’ and ‘creamy’, pointing out its subtle phallic shape.
Revealing the new line of serenading sweets, the Facebook page Food Finds UK Official, released pictures of the chocolate, amassing thousands of comments from humoured – and some horrified – shoppers.
One customer wrote: ‘This is not just any love arrow… this is an M&S solid, creamy love arrow with red decoration,’ making a jibe at the retailer’s famous tagline.
Another joked: ‘Have the Ann sSummers chocolate designers got jobs at M&S now?’

Others remarked that the chocolate designers ‘knew what they were doing’, while some, unimpressed by smutty creation, were far less amused.
One displeased shopper remarked: ‘Think their buying department needs to take a good look at themselves!’
Meanwhile, another chocolate treat in the supermarket’s Valentine’s Day range, has also attracted attention over its perceived smutty appearance.
The butterscotch flavoured chocolate bar shaped as a banana costs £3.75 – and it has also captured the attention of shoppers.
The chocolate bar, also featuring ‘solid creamy milk chocolate’, contains butterscotch pieces and is shaped as a half peeled banana seductively laying with one hand on their hip and the other beneath their chin.
Baffled by the sultry design, one customer joked: ‘I’d like to know who came up with these in M&S product development.’
A second said: ‘A winking banana. A bit of M and S smut for for Valentine’s Day,’ while a third wrote ‘look at M&S getting their kink on’.

Others joked that they couldn’t wait to see the romantic range offered by Aldi, the budget supermarket famed for its quirky takes on popular products from the high street.
Some commenters recalled former mischievous Valentine’s Day releases including chocolate emoji fruits and a ‘love sausage’ in their savoury range.
Last year, M&S revealed an array of fruit and vegetable shaped chocolate shells. The supermarket cheekily announced one aubergine emoji shaped chocolate – commonly associated with phallic imagery – and a second peach emoji chocolate product, often used to represent the bottom.
In 2020, the luxury supermarket unveiled their 458g heart-shape pork sausage infused with truffle, for the second year in a row, delighting customers with the innuendo famed product.
Customers flocked to the supermarket when the product was first released in 2019 and the tasty pork product followed through in amassing the same attention the following year, with the retailer also releasing mini ‘Give a Little Love’ Sausage to keep up surging with demand.
Alongside it’s romantic range, the supermarket have also recently released their Easter range, ahead of the big day in April.
Adding to their seasonal chocolate range, M&S have released a brand new Outrageously Chocolatey Custard Cream Biscuity Easter Egg – featuring a giant milk chocolate sculpture shaped into a custard cream with biscuit pieces inside the shell.
Also in the range are new Pistachio Rolled Eggs, which are filled with smooth pistachio creme and then rolled in roasted chopped nuts.

The supermarket has also added a wide range of chocolate creations in the shape of animals – with a Charlie Bunny, Lucy Lamb and Daisy Cow among them.
Commenting on the suggestive new range of romantic chocs, a spokesperson for M&S said: ‘This Valentine’s we’ve got a great range of gifts for all, from exquisite and luxurious to a bit of fun (yes, the puns are deliberate!)
‘Whatever the product, we lead on quality, because when we say this is not just food, this is M&S Food, we really mean it.’
