Ice-T may demand respect for the badge on Law & Order: SVU, but he did not show much for it after he was pulled over in New Jersey on a traffic stop.
The actor, who recently shared his secret to his 24-year-marriage with wife Coco Austen, was caught on camera having a heated disagreement with a cop on body-cam video from an incident in May.
On the tape, shared by TMZ and the YouTube channel Unspoken Crime Murders, a Hudson County Sheriff’s deputy has pulled the rapper over and approached the car. He tells the 66-year-old star he has been pulled over for having expired tags and missing a front license plate on his Porsche.
The Grammy winner explained he was on his way to the nearby DMV to get that all sorted. The actor went on to claim the car had remained ‘parked’ for the three years since the documentation expired.
‘Yesterday, I went to the DMV and they said their system was down, so that’s where I’m headed,’ the actor said. ‘I’ve got seven cars, I’m trying to get them all straight.’
Asked if he had an appointment, the Colors rapper said he didn’t and that the workers at the DMV ‘know me.’ He also pointed out his driver’s license was expired as well. ‘That’s why I’m going to the DMV.’

‘Sir, you can not drive with an expired license and an expired registration,’ the officer told him.
‘Why don’t you follow me to that garage right there. The DMV is right there. You don’t got to be that serious about this,’ Ice-T suggested. ‘I mean you can, but you don’t have to.’
The deputy tells him it is ‘serious’ as he continued to inspect the paperwork offered.
‘I could park the car right here and walk to the DMV,’ Ice-T offered.
The deputy, then tells him: ‘I’m going to tow your vehicle.’
‘You’re not fixin’ to tow my f**king vehicle,’ the rapper retorted.
The officer proceeded to tell the actor to give him his keys, which he did, and told Ice-T he was going to ‘tow your vehicle.’
When the actor once again suggested being able to park the car, the officer said, ‘you’re not going to tell me what to do. I’m going to tell you what to do.
‘If I’m not under arrest then I’m getting out of my car,’ the NAACP Image Award winner said, before demanding his ‘f**king paperwork’ be returned.

‘I am a foot away from the DMV’ the actor continued.
‘Keep your distance,’ the officer reiterated.
Ice-T complied, but as he walked away, he told the cop ‘you’re a f**king a**hole.’
‘I’m not an a**hole, you’ve been an a**hole to me,’ the deputy stated.
The rapper then began using his cell phone to record the interaction.
As he did so, the deputy called for backup and stayed in his vehicle until another officer quickly arrived on the scene.

‘I’m trying to get to DMV to register my cars. I got all the paperwork and everything there. I asked the officer could I just go over here and or even park my car so that I could walk over there and get all my paperwork and he says he wants to tow my car.’
In the end, the Equal Standard actor was able to park his car and walk to the DMV and the officer, who pulled him over, issued him four tickets for driving with a suspended license, improper display, no inspection sticker and missing front plates.
The car was not towed, and the keys and paperwork were returned to the TV cop, who was allowed to walk to the DMV to sort the situation.
