- Was involved in a crash with an Uber that injured a young girl
- Admitted to having cocaine in his system that he used the day before
- Was given a lenient sentence, despite several past offences
Ezra Mam’s shocking traffic history has been revealed following the Brisbane Broncos star’s sentencing for being involved in a car crash with cocaine in his system.
The Broncos playmaker has been stood down by the club and faces an NRL investigation and sanctions following the car crash in October.
The 21-year-old player was involved in a head-on collision with an Uber carrying a mother and her four-year-old daughter, who suffered minor injuries.
Court documents revealed Mam had 0.01mg/L of cocaine in his system, which he admitted to using socially the day before the crash.
Now News Corp has revealed the shopping list of traffic offences Mam had prior to that crash that threatens to ruin his NRL career.
At the time of the incident, Mam’s licence was suspended for previous traffic offences, marking his third suspension since 2021.

His driving history includes offences such as speeding, failing to stop at a red light, and using a mobile phone while driving.
Mam’s most recent suspension stemmed from a May 2024 offence, where he was fined $1161 and lost four demerit points for using his phone. He was due to regain his licence in November 2024.
In court, Mam pleaded guilty to charges of driving with a relevant drug present in his blood and driving unlicensed. He received an $850 fine, a six-month driving ban, and avoided a criminal conviction.
Magistrate Mark Nolan called Mam’s actions “stupid” and emphasised the risks he posed to himself and others.
‘There’s no place for illicit drugs in our community, and certainly no place for a person who is using illicit drugs to get behind the wheel of a car,’ he said.
In his written apology to the court, Mam expressed deep remorse, calling the incident a “turning point” in his life.
‘I now understand how dangerous and irresponsible my actions were – not only for myself but for everyone on the road that day,’ Mam wrote.
Mam also acknowledged the need to rebuild trust.

‘Through this process, I have come to realise how much I need to grow, and the effort required to regain the trust of those I have let down,’ he said.
Following the crash, Mam enrolled in a four-week rehabilitation program at The Banyans, described as a luxury rehabilitation centre.
Healthcare professionals noted his full engagement and commitment to the program.
Mam has since started counselling and volunteering with organisations such as the RSPCA, aiming to demonstrate his commitment to personal growth and accountability.
The Broncos have confirmed they are cooperating with the NRL Integrity Unit’s investigation into the matter.
Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy expressed disappointment in Mam’s actions but affirmed the club’s commitment to supporting him through his recovery.
Mam’s manager, Nash Dawson, stated that the player has shown concern for the victims’ wellbeing and is taking responsibility for his actions.
As a result of the incident, two corporate sponsors withdrew their support for Mam. He is also facing disciplinary action from the Broncos, including being barred from training until 2025.
Mam’s $4million contract with the Broncos remains under review.
The NRL is considering potential penalties, including a suspension and fine, as part of its investigation.
