A soon-to-be senator has just announced he is expecting a third child with his second wife.
Democratic Arizona Senator-elect Ruben Gallego, 44, is expecting a little boy with his wife Sydney Gallego, he announced on his X Tuesday.
‘We are adding a new member to the Gallego family,’ he posted.
‘Isla and Michael are going to have a new baby brother!’ the Democrat said. ‘Love you [Sydney]!’
Attached to the sweet note was an ultrasound photo hanging like an ornament from a glowing Christmas tree.
Sydney, a lobbyist, retweeted the post with a heart emoji.
‘Even more to be grateful for this year,’ she wrote.
But the happy announcement from the growing family comes just months after a bombshell report that the Democratic senator-elect ended his last marriage when his then-wife was pregnant.

Gallego stunned his ex-wife by asking her for a divorce days before she was due to give birth, according to court filings that the lawmaker fought to keep sealed and hidden from public view released in October.
They show he allegedly told his ex-wife, current-Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, their marriage was over on December 15, 2016.
Gallego filed a motion to seal the divorce records on the same day he filed them, and has fought with the Washington Free Beacon to keep it that way after the conservative outlet sued for access to the records.
Divorce records in Arizona are usually public, however Gallego filed to have their records sealed because ‘each party is a high-profile public official’, and their case would ‘likely receive intense scrutiny from the media.’
In the filings, Kate appeared to have been surprised by Gallego’s characterization of their marriage as ‘irretrievably broken’, and responded in court that she was ‘without knowledge’ of his intentions.
Their divorce was finalized in April 2017. At the time, Kate was a member of the Phoenix City Council, and she went on to be elected the Mayor of Phoenix in March 2019.
The couple welcomed a son shortly after their divorce was finalized. Just over a year later, Gallego, then-39, says he met his current wife, lobbyist Sydney Barron, 25. They later welcomed a daughter, Isla, in July 2023.

Republican presidential nominee former President Donald Trump listens as Arizona Senate candidate Kari Lake speaks at a campaign rally at the Findlay Toyota Arena Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, in Prescott Valley, Ariz.
The two announced their marriage in early 2020, where Gallego declared to supporters that he was ‘the happiest man in the world.’
Both Ruben and Kate Gallego asked courts to keep their divorce records sealed, citing concerns about their son’s privacy.
The battle for the documents occurred just weeks before Election Day, when Gallego was squaring off with Kari Lake.
However, the allegations about Gallego in the divorce filings did not turn away Arizona voters, who broke 50 percent for the Democrat and 48 percent for Lake.
For her par, Lake, a former TV anchor, was recently named as nominee to be director of Voice of America.
