This is the shocking moment a £10million superyacht smashed into a cruise ship off the Bahamas.
Footage taken by passengers shows the Aurora yacht veering diagonally towards the massive Allure of the Seas cruise ship while it was docked in Nassau Harbour on December 12.
Horrified cruise guests standing at the railing can be heard shouting: ‘That’s for sure about to hit us. They’re hitting us. Oh no they’re going to hit us.’
The 121ft yacht then smashed into the Royal Caribbean ship with a loud crash, before it scraped along the hull of the 1,187ft cruise liner, accompanied by deafening creaking sounds.
‘When it got to about a third of the way past the cruise ship as it was entering the port, it suddenly swung right and just kept coming closer,’ witness Dayanni Bhagwandin, who filmed the crash, told 7 News Miami.
‘The yacht kept going along the cruise so I guess it kind of just kept hitting it and touching the side as it moved forward. And then eventually went on to the port.’
The yacht’s mast even struck one of the lifeboats on the cruise ship, which ripped off its radar dome and left debris lying on the yacht.
The Allure of the Seas only sustained minimal damage and set off from the Bahamas port with a 40-minute delay.

The vessels then collided with a loud crash, before the 121ft yacht proceeded to scrape along the hull of the 25,000-ton cruise liner, accompanied by deafening creaking sounds
Meanwhile, a distressed crew member ran onto the yacht’s sun deck and was filmed desperately trying to lower the fenders to minimise further damage.
A passenger then asked him whether he was okay, while another mocked that the man would likely be fired.
Shortly after the crash, a police boat was seen pulling up next to the superyacht.
The Aurora, built as part of the Nordhavn 120 series and valued at £10.5million ($13.5million), can accommodate up to ten guests in its five bedrooms, which include a private master suite on the main deck.
It is unclear whether there were any guests on board at the time of the crash.
‘It looks like the yacht definitely had much more damage so I just hope everyone on the yacht is ok,’ Bhagwandin said.
The 414-ton yacht lost its antenna mast and radar as a result of the crash, according to reports.
No injuries have been reported following the incident, but the Aurora remains docked in Nassau for repairs due to the significant damage it sustained.
The cause of the crash has not been determined, but experts speculate that a mechanical failure on the yacht could have led to the collision, the Sun reports.

Passengers on the opposite site weren’t even aware of the crash until the captain made an announcement, according to 7 News Miami.
The cruise liner is due to undergo a $100million refurbishment in the coming weeks, although it is unclear whether additional repairs are necessary due to the crash. The ship is set to return to sea in April.
This comes after a pipe burst on another Royal Caribbean ship recently and a female passenger fell overboard during a Taylor Swift themed cruise in the Bahamas in October. The woman was never found.
