Jay Z has revealed he will sit down with Beyoncé to explain a bombshell civil lawsuit which accuses the rapper of raping a 13-year-old girl with Sean Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs.
The couple, who were romantically linked around 1999 before the alleged incident took place, married in 2008 and share three children: Blue Ivy, 12, and twins Rumi and Sir, seven.
The accuser, who identifies herself as Jane Doe in the legal documents, claims the assault took place at a party after the the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
The lawsuit had initially been filed in New York’s Southern District this past October against Combs, with a refiling on Sunday naming the rapper, 55, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
The woman accusing the rapper claims that the assault took place at an afterparty following the event, which took place September 7, 2000 at New York City‘s Radio City Music Hall.
Jay-Z issued a lengthy statement to Dailymail.com Sunday denying the claims made in the re-filed lawsuit. DailyMail.com has also reached out to Beyonce‘s representative for comment.
He referenced Beyoncé in the emotionally charged response and said he was dismayed his children would have to hear about the allegations.
He said: ‘My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.

He continued: ‘I mourn yet another loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such at their young age. It is unfair to have to try to understand inexplicable degrees of malice meant to destroy families and human spirit.’
Jay Z insists the accusations are a shakedown and went on to make a blistering attack on the lawyer representing Jane Doe: ‘My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee,’ he said. ‘What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle.
‘No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!’
The musician continued, ‘These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?
‘These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case. This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these type of theatrics!’
The rap staple, whose hits include Empire State Of Mind, Big Pimpin’ and Can I Get A…, took personal aim at Buzbee, who has taken on more than 100 cases against Combs.
Jay-Z issued a lengthy statement Sunday denying the claims made in the re-filed lawsuit
‘I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over,’ Jay-Z said in his reply. ‘I’m more than prepared to deal with your type. You claim to be a marine?! Marines are known for their valor, you have neither honor nor dignity.
‘My heart and support goes out to true victims in the world, who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit.’
Jay-Z said in his statement that Buzbee ‘made a terrible error in judgement’ in categorizing all celebrities as the same, referencing his own rise and New York City beginnings.
‘I’m not from your world,’ he said. ‘I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games.
‘We have very strict codes and honor. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain.’
Jay-Z wrapped up his statement in saying, ‘Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable.
‘I look forward to showing you just how different I am.’
Buzbee, the lawyer bringing the action against Jay-Z, said ‘the pleading speaks for itself. This is a very serious matter that will be litigated in court.’
Rapper Combs, known as ‘Diddy,’ has separately been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering.
Federal prosecutors allege that Combs, 55, sexually abused women and coerced them into drug-fueled sex parties using threats and violence.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and his criminal trial is currently slated to begin on May 5, 2025.
Combs has also faced a massive wave of suits promised by lawyers including Texas attorney Buzbee, who said in October that more than 100 alleged victims were planning legal action against him.
