Azealia Banks sent a cease and desist letter to Matty Healy after he sent her a threatening tweet amid their online feud.
On Sunday, Banks shared a copy of the cease and desist letter, which was dated Saturday from Wallace J. Collins III in New York City, on her X, formerly Twitter, account.
In the legal document, the rapper, 33, demanded he immediately cease and desist from making any further or defamatory statements against her.
She also demanded the 1975 frontman, 35, make a prompt and public apology to her for his aggressive statements he tweeted on X earlier this week and has since deleted.
Via her lawyer, she also demanded he pay her $1 million after he said he wanted to ‘f***ing slap her’ when she made public remarks about him and his fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel amid their online feud.
The tense back-and-forth reportedly shocked and ‘disappointed’ his ex, Taylor Swift, a source exclusively told DailyMail.com on the same day.

The insider revealed that the nasty spat and his threat of physical violence helped the superstar ‘reaffirm’ why their relationship was never more than just a brief romance.
This comes after a tense social media exchange occurred between the musician on X after Healy reactivated his X account and went after Banks for tweeting about his bandmate George Daniel’s fiancée — Charli XCX.
In response to Banks saying Charli XCX ‘used to be soooo pretty,’ Healy clapped back.
He tweeted: ‘All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people. I think this makes you jealous cos you’re so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro.’
Banks replied to his insult by making a public remark about his fiancée in response to another tweet he had made in defense of the model.
Standing up for Bechtel, whom he started dating in September 2023, he ranted: ‘And on that point if I see one little s*** bag twitter barista say ONE thing about my Gabi, EVER, I will use my mental illness to full affect and I will dox and f*** you up. I’m so over pretending to have different standards online cos it’s “not real”. Well, a f***in slap is.’
Banks tweeted an insult back and wrote that that he and his model fiancée ‘both look like you share needles.’
She also wrote: ‘The b**** look like Frankenstein to me.’

An enraged Healy then issues a wildly dramatic threat and tweeted: ‘Talk to me like that I’m not gonna side eye you at an awards do I’ll f****** slap you so hard I’ll get a Guinness world record for the highest a rat some b**** calls a wig has ever flown.’
Recognizing the inappropriate nature of his outburst, Healy then quickly backtracked and apologized after deleting the tweets.
‘Nah I can’t be saying I’m gonna hit a girl that’s insane I’m sorry. You just can’t keep being so mean about my mates and my mrs it’s really hurtful gets me well defensive,’ he wrote before going on to deactivate his X account again.
However, Banks was quick to save screenshots of his tweets and her lawyer wrote in her cease and desist letter that the demands are in response to Healy’s ‘threats of violence.’
‘Your attacks against my client’s professional reputation, your overt racial epithets and your most recent threats of physical violence against my client have been well-documented since you published them worldwide online,’ Collins wrote.
He called Healy’s actions ‘wrongful, bad faith and malicious’ and said they have ‘seriously damaged and will continue to damage my client.’

The letter continued: ‘Your removal of the damaging attack posts and your acknowledgement that your reaction was inappropriate does not undo the damage, but rather constitutes evidence of an admission of guilt by you.’
He went on to note that he had drafted a summons and complaint per Banks’ request, but that ‘I have usually found it beneficial for all parties to try to resolve such matters amicably without the need for court intervention.’
After Banks threatened to sue him over his threat of physical violence, he later took to The 1975’s Reddit page to issue a groveling apology saying he had ‘let himself down’ and that he felt ‘gross’ for having ‘acted violent’.
He wrote: ‘What a bad day, I really let myself down. I have worked so hard to move past these impulsive self destructive and honestly quite volatile outbursts I have.
‘I’m constantly making trouble for myself for no reason, I come back to social media after depressive episodes (which is NOT an excuse) because I often become sober, so as an addict when I’m not using I pick up social media my new way of ‘consuming’ and changing how I feel. I just feel dreadful about how I acted violent – I think Azealia and all obvious flawed people all deep down have a heart and I hate that I have contributed to her mental fragility. She’s a human.
‘This cultural discourse has become so violent in general. I don’t wanna act like I regret who I am or who have been. But Tbh at this point I feel gross even having said anything negative ever about anything – if it’s contributed to this culture.’
