Singapore Airlines has been named by Britons as the best carrier in the world.
The accolade comes from a YouGov poll in which it places first out of 28 major airlines for net customer satisfaction.
In total, 74 per cent said they were satisfied with Singapore Airlines, putting it ahead of Emirates, which comes second with a score of 71.9 per cent.
In third place is Air New Zealand (70 per cent), followed by Virgin Atlantic in fourth (63.9 per cent) and Jet2 rounding off the top five with a satisfaction rating just a sliver lower – 63.8 per cent.
Next comes Qatar Airways (6th, 62 per cent), then Cathay Pacific (7th, 59 per cent), Etihad Airways (8th, 59 per cent) and Norwegian (9th, 57 per cent).
British Airways snares 10th thanks to a satisfaction score of 52.6 per cent.
The UK flag carrier performs better in the ranking that reflects which airline respondents are considering booking with in the next 12 months.
Just over 52 per cent of Britons said they were likely to book a flight with British Airways over the next year, making it No.1 in the top 10 ranking.

EasyJet comes second, with 49 per cent of Britons polled considering booking a flight with the budget carrier in the next 12 months.
Jet2 (3rd, 37 per cent), Ryanair (4th, 32 per cent) and Virgin Atlantic (5th, 31 per cent) round off the top five.
Emirates (6th, 28 per cent), TUI Airways (7th, 27 per cent) and KLM (8th, 20 per cent) are the next most ‘considered’ airlines.
Qatar Airways (ninth, 19.7 per cent) and Etihad Airways (10th, 18 per cent) round out the top 10.
These results, however, will of course be influenced by destinations served and fleet size.
