Corey Oates has officially joined the Robin and Kip KIIS 97.3 FM breakfast team.
The 30-year-old former Bronco has been a regular on the Brisbane show since October, starring in his own light-hearted Find Corey a Job segment.
Oates’ surprise career move comes after the popular footy star announced he was retiring from the NRL after 216 games in October.
On Monday, he told listeners that he was considering a career as a ‘golfer’ before confirming his new role.
‘I really love golf,’ he joked. ‘I thought this could be me, and I had a mate say “no way,” so that’s not an option, unfortunately.
‘So I’ve decided to stay with you guys. What do you reckon?’

Meanwhile, the show has been rebranded as ‘Robin & Kip now with Corey Oates in the morning’.
Oates ‘work experience’ over the last few weeks, which he shared with listeners on the breakfast show’s Find Corey a Job segment, included trying out gigs as an air traffic controller, real estate agent, counsellor, and retail sales assistant.
The footy favourite is not the only high-profile NRL player to have scored a job with KIIS FM recently.
Former Sea Eagles champ Cooper Johns, 24, announced he was joining the station as part of The Kyle and Jackie O Show for 2024.
Cooper, 24, hung up his footy boots for the time being after he was not re-signed by Manly at the end of the 2023 season.
As the Kyle and Jackie O Show returned to air in January, Jackie asked Kyle why Cooper had his own desk in their studio.

It comes after KIIS FM suffered upheaval to its on air lineup last week. Presenter Mitch Churi (pictured) broke down live on-air on Wednesday afternoon as he confirmed to listeners he had been sacked from the network
‘We’re not sure what he does yet, but we’ve just secured his services,’ replied Sandilands.
‘The reason why we got Coops is because I thought he’s very, very good. We were paranoid and thought “we’ve got to secure this guy”.’

Presenter Mitch Churi broke down live on-air on Wednesday afternoon as he confirmed to listeners he had been sacked from the network.
The KIIS FM radio star, who co-hosted The Pick Up drive time show alongside Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley, became emotional as he revealed the heartbreaking news to his co-stars.
‘Late last week, I was informed by the powers that they have identified my role here as one that won’t be returning in 2025,’ Mitch began.
Mitch then revealed he was blindsided by the decision, and he wished it had not come to this.
‘I just want to say it wasn’t my decision or my call. I really wanted to stay on the show with you two. I really wanted to stay with KIIS.’
Co-star Laura Byrne, 38, jumped in to say she and Laura fully supported Mitch and wished him all the best for the future.
‘This is not what we want for the show. It’s a decision that has been made out of our control. Britt and I have to continue on doing the show without you and we are utterly devastated,’ Laura said.
‘You are not only our co-host but also one of our best friends,’ Brittany chipped in.
Fortunately, Mitch will be able to properly farewell listeners as he will remain on air until the end of the year.
On Wednesday, Laura and Brittany were spotted supporting Mitch as he exited KIIS FM’s North Sydney studios after the shock news.
The radio presenters looked emotional as they embraced Mitch while walking him out of the studio.
He had hosted The Night Show with Mitch Churi since 2019, and co-hosted The Pick Up with Laura and Brittany.
The paper claims the decision was made for ‘financial reasons’, and Mitch, who has not been on the air since Thursday, received the bad news on Tuesday.
