As MSG Network’s cameras panned to show Caitlin Clark during a break in the action of Pacers-Knicks, NBA legend Walt ‘Clyde’ Frazier threw shade at the WNBA All-Star with an eye-opening comment.
Clark was sat courtside for Sunday night’s game for New York in Indianapolis next to boyfriend Connor McCaffery.
Frazier did not seem too impressed with Clark, as play-by-play announcer Mike Breen introduced her on-screen.
Clark’s reputation proceeds her as the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year and one of the sport’s best.
‘She doesn’t look that formidable. I could stop her,’ Frazier said on the air.

MSG Network’s Walt Frazier said that Clark did not ‘look that formidable’ in an on-air comment
The comment got a laugh from MSG Network play-by-play commentator Mike Breen.
Frazier was an elite point guard for the Knicks for a decade and he was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1987.
Knicks fans on social media have claimed the comment was sarcastic and was in line with him poking fun at other famous people who have been shown in the past on MSG Network.
‘This was insane even for Clyde,’ one Knicks fan said on X.
Clark has been at the forefront in the rise of popularity of women’s basketball for well over a year. The spotlight on Clark has made every action she takes magnified.
During her rookie WNBA season, Clark averaged 19.2 points and 8.4 assists per game, the latter of which led the league.
The Pacers did end of up winning the game over the Knicks in a rematch of last years’ Eastern Conference Semifinal.
