Meghan McCain mercilessly tore into Kari Lake as a ‘loser’ after projections show her failing in her bid for the U.S. Senate.
While the Arizona Senate race has not officially been called, Decision Desk HQ has Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) winning against the Republican candidate.
In response, McCain posted to X a meme of Lake at the wheel of a vehicle and the message: ‘Get in loser, we’re going losering.’
Just before 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, the projected call was made by the election result reporting website. As of Sunday morning, the race stands at 49.7 percent to 48.2 percent in Rep. Gallego’s favor.
The Associated Press has still not called the race one way or the other.

On Saturday evening, however, the AP did call the presidential contest in Arizona for Donald Trump with a 6.2 percent lead over Vice President Kamala Harris. It was the last state to be called in the 2024 presidential election.
Lake’s loss in Arizona’s Senate race follows her failure in Arizona’s gubernatorial elections in 2022, which she lost to now-Gov. Katie Hobbs.
The former television anchor was going up against Gallego to win the seat opening after Democrat-turned-independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema decided not to run for reelection for a second term once she changed her party affiliation in 2022.
Democrats were holding their breath in the days after the 2024 election as they tried to maintain their razor-thin majority in the Senate. But even before the Arizona race was called, Democrats couldn’t do anything to reverse the seats picked up by Republicans this year.
With 53 seats as of Sunday afternoon, Republicans will hold the upper chamber as well as the White House.
The results in the lower chamber are still up in the air.
The Associated Press has still yet to call the Arizona Senate race but other election tracking outlets have projected Rep. Gallego as the winner
